Janelia Farm and Learning Genome Annotation

It was a LONG, HECTIC week, but I learned more at this conference than imaginable. I had a great time and I wish I could have explored Janelia Farm a bit more- but that is hard when your day starts at 7, ends at 10, and there is homework to do before the next morning. It was incredible. I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it, and I feel great about annotating viral genomes!
Two of my teammates.  I really like these girls.  We had a great time, and worked so, so hard.

I DID take a walk when I first got there- little did I know, it would be my last time outside until I left on Friday.  With all the windows, I did not really "miss" the outdoors, and with all the work and awesomeness, I was fine being inside.

There is INCREDIBLE architechure and decorating at Janelia Farm

My room had floor-to-celing windows, and on the last night (Dec 13, Thursday), I watched a meteor shower until I fell asleep.  It was fantastic.
