It has (thank the good Lord), been very beautiful out- just a liiiiiittle on the cool side. However, it is absolutely GORGEOUS here.

Asher has been enjoying being able to play outside. Since I have decided to put in in kindergarten, I have really felt he "isn't ready" but I have felt we will get the most help with some of the quarks once we have the input of those who are truly experts on the subject- that is, Kindergarten teachers. Truly, even the pediatrician told us that his teachers would help us most. Anyway, this last month, I have become more and more comfortable thinking that he IS ready. What a relief.

| He likes hop-scotch (and is very PARTICULAR about the pattern O-o) |
 |
| He loves the park |
 |
| We have a park that is handicapped accessible and he loves that too- it is called "A Dream Come True Park" which confuses him because his cousin calls Disney World "Dream Come True." Needless to say, when I asked Matt to take him to "the dreams come true park" Asher was THRILLED but when they got there and there were no roller coasters... (yes, we still are obsessed with those EVERY.SINGLE.DAY) |
 |
| He loves all animals- but has learned to keep his distance from bees, wasps and spiders. Actually, he is terrified of spiders (thankfully, last year at this time, he would pick them up, bring them too me, and make me do a special song and dance in my driveway :-D). This is Asher keeping a safe distance from a carpenter bee. |

| I had a little upsetting argumentative appearance in one of my labs- ask if you want to know why this is so frustrating... |
2 weeks ago, I saw the little paper slips for "FREE CHILD'S TICKET!" popping up. I have seen these every since since I moved here in 1995. I figured if the circus was any good, tickets would not be free, so we have never gone. Then, I asked my Sister-in-law if she had heard of the circus and she said it is the same one they take Taylor to and she loves it. We could not afford for the entire family to go (even with free ticket for Asher), but I really wanted Asher to be able to go, so he went with his dad.

| Asher was very happy- he loved the tigers and cracked up over the clowns. He loved the acrobats. |

| Look at how happy he is! |
It was a good week. Valerie is at all As and Bs in school. This is especially remarkable considering all the catch-up she had to do in Spanish. She has a 100 in one of her classes too. She is going to ROCK her GPA this year.
I finished up classes, now onto exam week- grading papers, and getting labs ready for quietness for the summer... well, the one that will not be used in summer school.
As much as we tried to avoid it, it looks likeMatt will be going to Washington state for the summer. It is not the job that I am hesitant about, it is being a single mom, working all my jobs, and putting asher in all-day/every-day day care. We have never done that. Sigh. It stresses me out to the point of tears EVERY time I think about it, so I have not been thinking about it, but I have to. I have a lot to get sorted out in the next 2 weeks. I am glad Matt will be working, but it comes at a pretty significant cost to me. Oh well, it could definitely be worse. I have experienced worse, and I will take this over Matt not having a job.
I am hoping for more blue skies, and slightly warmer temperatures. I have been photo-shooting every single week, which is GOOD.

Charlotte has been in all day care since she was an infant and she is far ahead in development and all milestones probably because of the interaction with other kids. He is old enough that it will be nothing but GOOD for him and give him a transition to kindergarten. Give up the guilt/angst. It's debilitating. You're doing the best you can and perfection is not necessary.
