What a whirlwind week.
I am still sick- still- as in, since the week Asher got his flu shot- Sept 20-ish. Asher got the flu from the flu shot for the second year in a row- and gave it to me, for the second year in a row. I have had people laugh in my face and tell me that it is impossible, but having gone through it two years in a row, we are not doing the flu shot again. Why? Well, a 7 week sickness started by an immunization my toddler got as a preventative ain't cool . Especially with chronic bronchitis and asthma. That is what is the worst. The shallow breaths and coughing that keeps all of us up all night. I have been self-isolating myself to the sofa because I really do wake everyone up. So, this week, I had a new cold on top of the whatever-is-left and I had a rough, rough week. With daylight savings, it was pretty brutal.
Thankfully, Asher is being a little better, although every time I sit to do work at the computer, he asks me "hug me?" and wants to sit. Who can say no? Not me, but it does make getting what I need to get done hard.
Anyway, Candra is still here. We love her. She is fine here.
We went to Maryland for our friends' birthday party today, that was so fun. Pump It Up is legitimate fun for kids. This was a really good one with nice, clean, gleaming play structures, lighty-up carpet (with blacklights) and laser designs all over.
Matt had to work (imagine that), so Valerie helped with Asher. I daresay she had as much fun as he did. She was amazing to help the way she did.
We then went to Tyson's. We have not been in a YEAR now. There is an American Girl store there!! I was excited when I saw it, but Valerie was a little embarrassed (??) by her former love of the dolls, so we went to Charlotte Russe and Amuse instead.
We picked up california pizza kitchen too. It is SO MUCH CHEAPER to get it to go. I am pretty sure I will never eat in-store again.
The ride home was fine and Valerie and I talked a lot. So, with the combination of some resistance to rules and discipline, this has been a perfect time to bash mom. The only mom she's ever had and the only person to love and support her all her life. It was a good talk and I only got teary once. No raised voices, none of that. That the good Lord.
Anyway, it was a good day.
This week, we have the fly development lab- which can be pretty flipping stressful- and sequence analysis- which is the same (will there be enough embryos? will there be good sequences?). Then Saturday or Sunday, Valerie, Asher and I drive to Columbia, SC, then to Orlando. Matt will fly in Thanksgiving Day, because he has to work till 11 pm Weds night (sigh).
I am hoping and praying for cooperative children, patience and an attitude set on memory-making.
Finally, I am the last person in the world to hear of Adele. I love her. I bought her album on iTunes. Look for me trying to sing this song sometime soon. It is amazing and I LOOOVE it.
