AND NEEEEXT...

As any disposable diaper-buyer knows, those babies are EXPENSIVE.  Now, I did get amazing deals from time to time using my Amazon mom, and now my Amazon educator free prime + coupon code discounts ($12.00 for a big ole box), but we tend to not remember to order diapers in time, so we mostly bought Target brand.  They are $15 for a box of 60 in size 6- the size Asher has been in since he was 12 months old.  They are expensive!  And, don't hate, I tried cloth and wanted to vomit or throw away the things- and those babies are $20 a PIECE when poop was involved, so I gave them to a friend and just did disposable.  It is all Krissy's fault.  She bought me a box for Asher before he was born with the statement "these are for WHEN you get sick of cloth diapering..." BOY OH BOY, she was right.  Thank goodness, I never did use all that formula the hospital gave me.  (I DID supplement with formula eventually, but NOT until it was clear pumping 12 oz every 4 hours was not enough, but I digress...)

Adorable Target diapers, we hope we have bought the last $15 box
I am pretty good at feeling people out.  Asher likes to play games- if it is a game, he will take a bath, let me wash his hair, wipe his nose... change his disgusting poopy diaper... SO.  Operation potty train has commenced with a few preparations:

TARGETS - Asher REALLY loves his targets, but he DID pour an entire box of cereal into the toilet last night.  Matt stood over the toilet very perplexed as to WHY ON EARTH he would think to do that... "it was me, dear.  I thought he would like the target practice- and he did."

Ug, slave to the timer.  It is all good though, Asher loves proving he can do it.  It is my hope we can have this habit down in a week, but I will be honest, Asher LOVES peeing in his diaper and there has not been a SINGLE poop-in-the-potty event as of yet.  I am trying to be patient, but... um.  He is three and a half.  I HAVE been patient.

THEN there is the other big change.

Asher's hair in the fall was getting a little too long for my liking, so we took him for a haircut in November- by the way, the photo above is a PERFECT length for Asher's hair.  I LOVED it like this.

After the haircut, Asher's hair had some funky waves, but no curls.  I could get it to curl a little when I scrunched it after a bath, but it would inevitably end up like this.  I really don't like the Newt Gingrich look on my little guy, so...

I asked Matt to take Asher to get it cut short while I was at work.

He is such a little stud! Look how handsome he is, seriously, I know he is my son and all, but this is one good-looking KID!

Every time I tell him how handsome he is, he says "you handsome too!"
I am so grateful for this little boy, he is so happy to see me every time he sees me and I am so happy to see him too.   I love, love, LOVE him so much.

I had mixed emotions about taking Asher in to practically give him a buzz cut. However, after reading Crystal's comparison to Newt Gingrich I knew I'd made the right decision to do what she asked me to do.
I will miss the adorable curly blonde hair but I do think he is a really good looking kid with this new haircut.
