Fall is sublime

Fall has entered the mountains of northern Virginia and she is absolutely breath-taking. I am so awestruck every day as I drive to and from work at the glory that is fall in Virginia.

Asher went on a field trip last week! There is a pretty popular pumpkin patch/fall farm fun place down the road from us.  I took he and Valerie 2 years ago, then jenn, Michael and Taylor when my Michael was on R&R, but it is pretty expensive.  However, if you go as a preschool, it is only $5.  Matt went with him, and they stayed for hours after the rest of the preschool left. He came home with an adorable pumpkin, and lots of stories.

I took advantage of the trees and spent some time with Carly and her boys last weekend.  I just loved playing with them.  It was nothing but smiles, laughter and memories.

This weekend, I got to see Denise's sister, Stephanie get married.  You know it is going to be a glorious day when there is a wedding in a beautiful place and everyone is just so happy.

I really loved this church- the setting, the people, and the pastor.  I will try to attend in the next couple weeks.
I love the bond between sisters.  I myself, do not have a sister, but I always imagined if I did, we would be very close- like these two.

After a frantic day,  asked for this pose.  I am going to work on decreasing the blinding sun and muting the carpet, but I love this photo.

There have been so many glorious sunsets lately.  I wish I was always able to stop and get a photo of them, as they speak to my soul.  I actually pulled over on a side road for this one.  It was especially magical.

We got to see Valerie this weekend.  It has been 5 weeks.  Talk about heart ache.  How does a child go from being with you every day of her life for 15 years, to once or twice a season?  She came to visit, and spent a lot of time with her friends here in Broadway.  We got to see her, mainly, on Sunday morning, but some on Saturday as well.

This is the essence of Virginia in the fall.  I honestly love this time of year so much, that I can not imagine living anywhere else.
Asher is learning so much- he asks what EVERY sign says, he asks (and tries to figure out) how things work, he is learning letters, numbers, songs... If he listens to a song one time, he has almost all of it memorized- and he corrects me if I mess up the lyrics.  He is such an incredible blessing.  He certainly keeps me motivated to keep going, keep smiling, keep trying despite it all.  He is a blessing and a wonder every day.
