Very good Day

Today after doing normal Saturday errands, we went grocery shopping at stopped at the stand set up to sell fresh, hot donuts.  These were AMAZING treats, so delicious.
Afterward, Matt left for work and I got Asher dressed to go to a baptism over an hour away in Charlottesville.  My sweet Bri was talking about the holy ghost. We LOVE baptisms.

Asher looked VERY handsome (and yes, I did put shoes on him ;-) just not on the long ride over.  I am nice like that.

Valerie and Candra looked so pretty! They put "normal" clothes back on as soon as the baptism was over though, so this is all the memory preserved of how pretty they looked.  Thankfully, I took this as they were walking into the church.

The baptism of Justin, from Africa was just amazing.  I had tears freely flowing after Bria gave her talk in the gift of the Holy Ghost and I sat and remembered her baptism, then Justin stood and shared his testimony.  It was absolutely incredible and completely compelling.  Even Asher was quiet and reverant the entire time.  The Spirit today was a physical feeling we all felt.  Valerie said she loved being there and Candra asked to come to the next one.  Not a problem.

Afterward, we went to Cappellino's where everyone picked out two cupcakes. Mmmmm, Cappellino's

After THAT, Asher recognized where he was (which cracks me up) and instead of turning left toward the car, the ran right toward his most favorite fountain on the downtown mall.  Then he giggled as Bri and I swung him between us all.the.way.to.the.car... We then went to the mall so Valerie could show Candra the mall and so Asher could run.  We were there about 2 hours and Asher had the best time.

Finally, we had dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise, which Asher LOVED.  He not only ate his dinner, but he did not throw a single fit- although he WAS pretty wild exploring such a fun atmosphere.

It was a wonderful day for us all (except poor Matt, who has to work every Saturday, but I brought him dinner, appetizer AND Cappellino's because I remember the days of being married to someone who did fun things on the weekends while I worked and not getting any good food).  Candra said it was the best day ever and Asher is just so, so happy.

It was nice to spend so much time with Bri too. We really miss her and thankfully, Asher is getting a little easier to take out and "do things" with.

We had planned to go visit Michael, Jenn and Taylor this weekend, and I am really sad that did not work out.  I miss them so much.  Maybe that will be able to happen in the next couple weeks.  In the meantime though, today was a good day.

Sounds like a great day - starting with doughnuts and ending with cheesburgers and cupcakes. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!
