Cakes, Duct Tape and Fun

We got some fun fountains for the 4th of July.  Much to my DISMAY, most of them popped really loudly or screamed.  I was so concerned about the neighbor's children, that I was a nervous wreck.  We lit them at oh, 10:30... Since Asher is up till 11:30 at LEAST every night, he was wide awake... I am sure that he wasn't the only one once Matt started lighting the fountains.

WOOK!
Asher REALLY loved the (silent) smoke bombs and the snap thingys you throw on the ground.
Young Women was at our house this week.  We were going to watch a movie outside, but it is just too bright until 9 or so, and young women is supposed to end by 8:30...  So I had 2 friends come over.  One taught how to make tote bags from duct tape...

The other taught basic cake decorating.  I am so grateful for these friends! I think the girls had a fantastic time.
Valerie's cake- she also decorated a cupcake-

While the girls were having fun, Asher was being jealous.  I am ASHER'S and ONLY ASHER'S when I am home.  It is super fun.

I LOOOOOVE deep purple and bright blue together

Amazing cake-age!

Happy boy

Once Asher realized what the girls were doing, he was ALL ABOUT stealing their decorating bags.  One of them was so nice to help keep his curls out of his face while he was enjoying the spoils of his conquests.

Since I could not really take part in the festivities with a certain boy, I inspected Kristen's (amazing) demo bag as she was leaving and I FIGURED IT OUT, BABY.  When Asher did fall asleep, I went to work and look what  I made! I used it as a gift bag, but am SO making one for my church stuff.  Those babies are tough!

I made 10 cakes and 9 large cupcakes for the girls.  Our house was HOT Sunday night- oh, I also used 6 pounds of confectioners sugar, 3 cups of shortening and 2 pounds of butter, baby.  Oh yeah.
