Independence Day Weekend

Remember the gift of democracy and freedom.  How blessed we are to live in this amazing part of our country.  How fortunate we are to have the opportunity to be part of such a beautiful legacy in this beautiful and historic place named Virginia.

What a good weekend we have all had. Thankfully, Matt and I were both off Saturday until Wednesday, which means we can do stuff and I will be ok, because I have time to recover. We had an awesome time at King's Dominion, doing fun smoke bomb, firecracker things, then fireworks at night. I was a little worried because of the neighbors, but hopefully, no one hates us.

Asher was a BIG FAN of the King's Dominion water park

Huge bucket of water drenching

Carousel

Funnel Cake

Misty area

Beautiful night light displays (fell asleep before fireworks)

Valerie dyed her hair black while I was at work Friday

Big fan of smoke bombs

this is Asher's "determined" face.  He was trying to pop the little snappers we got him... by squeezing them... talk about heart-attack

Asher really loved the fireworks! They were far enough away that they were not to loud or scary

The ones at home though... those REALLY scared him.  I was a little nervous too.  I hope we did not wake up anyone at 10:30.

It does my heart good to see Matt having such a great fatherhood experience. There's no other way to learn and grow as much.

I too (Idaho boy) have always wondered about real fire flies.

Nice post
