Moving Right Along

Candra spent Friday/ Saturday with Valerie and I got a new desserts cookbook and had them pick out a recipe... This was hardly something I would need a recipe for, but this is what they chose.  I must say, Asher was a BIG FAN.

Speaking of Asher, here are some interesting things he has been doing.

He says "I yuh booo" when I leave in the mornings (I LOVE YOU!) and loves to repeat just about everything Valerie says "ahhhhhh! I BUUUG!"  So funny.

If I am ever replying to emails or you know... passing time on the internet, he grabs my hand off the keyboard, mid-type, pulls it and says one of the following:  "C'on mommy!" or "I cold" or "I sleepy" all three mean- "pay attention to me and only me by sitting in this specific chair with me laying against you in a soft blanket!!!"  I get annoyed by not being able to do my work when I need to, but if I am just messing around, I make it a habit to just get up and hold him.  It won't last long that he wants and needs to be held.  I'm just sayin' Valerie doesn't climb on my lap anymore...

When I pick him up from the summer baby-sitter, he says "MOOOMMMY!!!" and hugs me, then pushes me away and says "go 'way!" "No I NOT go home"  He loves his baby-sitter.  Believe me, I do not stress about this one, that he never wants to leave after such an awesome afternoon is a very, very huge comfort to me.  God help me, I have to find another sitter when Chris (and I) start the new fall semester...

Last night, I was thinking about the fact I have not read a novel since the last Harry Potter book and I decided to look to see what is free on Amazon.  Nothing free looked good (surprise), so I started looking at two books:

The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun

Now You See Her

and I bought the James Patterson one.  I was up till 5 am reading.  It is a great book.  I hope to finish it this weekend.  It is (sadly) the first book I have read since a certain son of mine was born.

So, after very little sleep, I went to mail some things I sold on Facebook pages (this is an AMAZING INVENTION- no feeBay fees), then the Farmer's market (woot for fresh and very inexpensive produce), then to my co-worker's bridal shower.  It was so fun!

Then, I came home and we started talking about our plans for meeting Jenn and Michael in Richmond next weekend for Kings' Dominion (we have season's passes), Harry Potter movie and the zoo. Valerie asked to bring Candra.  I told them she could come if they worked off the price of Candra's ticket.

I made a list, and they worked the entire afternoon doing all the chores I set out for them to do.  I think we all were really glad, in the end, for this idea.
Even Asher had fun!

PSA- DO NOT BUY THESE!!

Oh, but I LOVE Crayola products...
And COLORED BUBBLES sound SO NEAT!
I kind of expected Glinda to pop out and start singing, "Come out, come out, whereever you are..."
Then the bubbles landed.  This stuff is like concentrated food coloring + soap.  It smeared ALL OVER and I had to clean the floor 3 times to get it all off.  No lie.  JUST.SAY.NO.
