This is the big news:
Valerie (praise GOD!) is coming back to live with us. She was on Spring Break last week, and I don't actually get custody of her till Friday, so I could not transfer her to the schools here, so she came to work with me every day. I know it was probably not the most-exciting Spring Break ever, but she got a lot of reading in, she met a lot of people I like, she helped me administer a quiz, she knows all about yeast complimentation and PCR product detection... She got to have lunch at the new dining hall. I would say it was an interesting Spring break. Here was our week:
MONDAY: Classes cancelled, so QUICK!! Determine a makeup day/time for TWO SECTIONS! Then play in snow, start deep cleaning house.
TUESDAY: EARLY lab, take Valerie to work, rush to get everything done so I can take Valerie to therapy in other town, get home at 8 pm
WEDNESDAY: Make up section 1, rush to get everything done to barely leave by 7- after evening Senior Awards Night (such a great night filled with positive affirmations).
THURSDAY: rush to get 5x24 PCR samples prepared for sequencing, meeting about fall classes STAT, refigure 2 labs, take valerie to get some things from her dad's 1 over an hour away, rush to her Dr appointment in second town, go home in third town, reconfigure her room, empty Asher's dresser to put in Valerie's room (his is more modern, which she prefers and Asher could not care less about his dresser), get Asher a dresser from shed, switch out his winter for spring/summer, clean his closet and toy box, help Valerie with her room till 11 pm, realize I have had to pee since 5, but haven't been able to till 11:10.
FRIDAY: Up EARLY for second makeup lab, LAB SAFETY MEETING, Lets-add-three-classes-to-the-fall-schedule-NOW meeting, go back to my students in the lab, lunch, meeting with student, class, grading papers, Valerie to Dentist.
Saturday: up early, spend morning with Asher looking for specific colors of KoolAid to
DYE EGGS
See Easter Bunny (no money for a picture, but that was ok).
Come home, color eggs (do not leave eggs in kool aid for hours, the shell dissolves, and all the gorgeous color wipes off O-o, but I realized what was happening, so I just re-dyed for a few minutes, and all was well. (but boiled eggs stink!)
Work (yay) Rush home for make-up photo session
Laura and jordan stop by to visit and make dinner (I have amazing friends). I got to talk about life, which I never get to do any more, it seems.
