Happenings

I am sorry my posts are so sporadic.  Basically from Monday morning at 7:30 till Friday night at 6, I am running busy.  I do mean busy- I have not been able to stop to eat or even go to the bathroom all week this week, which is a repeat of the last month ;-)  The latter (no bathroom) has manifest itself in a nasty UTI this week.  Super fun.

I am happy, I have a great job, but I am super busy.  A lot of that has to do with taking my colleague's load.  When I agreed, it was postured as a "favor" for the first month of classes.  Now that reality has started to set in in, it is apparent, that it will be the majority, if not all, of the semester.  No procedures have even been started with his wife... Even THEN the process is a couple months before she can come home.  So.  I guess I am doing two people's work for the price of one.  Good deal for the administration, eh?

Anyway, I am BEAT by the time I get home.  Most days, I am agony walking to my car.  So.  Yes, I have aNOTHER Dr apt.  Tomorrow, actually, I have to get all the (#?*!) blood work drawn yet again to determine anti-DNA levels, etc.  So fun.  I just hope for relief.  I have a lot to do ;-)

Anyway, I love my job and my family.  I am so lucky with both.  Asher and Taylor's party is this weekend.  I am so excited to have friends and family over.  In my previous life, we had family/friends over every week.  I hardly ever have anyone over here because I am no longer married to a clean freak.  That was about the only thing nice about that marriage... well, that and the semi-annual vacations ;-)  Lucky for us, we live in a gorgeous place, it is like vacation in so many areas here.  In FACT, a lot of people come to this area TO vacation, so that is pretty lucky.

Finally, my friend's preemie who was delivered by emergency c-section at 25 weeks is going home today!! It is not even her due date.  She is a  little miracle just like her brother.  She is so lucky to be born into such a loving, hard-working family.  I am so happy for them.

Asher made a mess with "Vampire's Blood"
Cutie pie.  He ate a LOT of the "Ranchy Chicken" I made tonight and even said "Yom! YOM!"
Then he showed me his belly if I asked if his belly was full.  :-)
Look what I MADE! YEAHH!  I know Taylor (and her mom) will appreciate it.  It was a labor of love and we are so excited to give it to her!

Crystal! The vampire blood totally freaked me out until I read the caption. You nearly gave me a heart attack, I swear! This must be the season for being crazy busy... Does life ever ease up?!

Bri! I will call you- but if I don't PLEASE JUST COME BY! We are going to the RS broadcast in Harrisonburg, then back home. Come on by, girl.

As for the blood picture...I heard a strange noise, then looked over and saw that and nearly screamed, then I saw Asher holding the offending tube that I had just removed from my otherwise adorable "face paining" set I found.

He was going for Taylor's toy box and our draperies and I was like "Matt, please help!! Come here, hurry!" And Matt came and saw the floor and yelped. I was like- "its fake!" It was quite fun though. That stuff looks real if you aren't expecting it. When Valerie walked in, she freaked out too... then cracked up laughing.

As for busy... I think it does get easier, but not for your first REAL professional job ;-)

Love you so much, Bria! It really IS worth it!

It's true. When I saw the fake blood that I didn't know was fake I did in fact yelp. I was seriously scared he had really hurt himself and was trying to figure out what did the damage (all this went through my mind before Crystal said "It's fake!"). I've often thought Asher has been trying to give me a heart attack or a stroke before I turn 40.
