Whadda Week

Asher at dinner.
Matt's parents are visiting.  They took us out to dinner last night, which was really nice.  We have not eaten out in a long time and happily, Asher was very nice about it all.  This is the only picture I have though.  I REALLY need a camera that is behaving.  All I can use is my phone.

I havent gotten a whole lot of time to spend with them, but it was really nice having visitors.  They certainly kept Matt busy, removing yard debris, replacing 3 bathroom tiles and fixing the jacuzzi tub, which amounted to pushing the "reset" button on the outlet under the bathtub.  That discussion was an interesting one.  I said... "Well, is there a reset button? Because when our landscaping lights went out, all I did was push a magic button and they came on!"  Voile!  After 2 years, the jacuzzi works again.  I am way excited about that.  I wish I had investigated under the bathtub sooner.  I had sent Matt to investigate when it stopped working.  Now that we know, life is that much cooler (and bubblier).

that is the scheme of the fruit fly project for the week.  It is a lot of work, but it is good work and fun work.  Most of the students are excited about it.  I am in charge of alllllll the genetics labs and their flies.

I may take some Micro-for-the-week lab pictures later.  They are working on ubiquity and unknown projects this week.  I am in charge of allllllllllll of those labs too.  In fact, I am teaching allllllll but one of them as well.  I am also filling in for Cell lab too.  They are working on spectroscopy this week.

Spectroscopy set-up... Ironically, I did not get the spectrophotometer in this shot ;-)

Suffice it to say, I am worn out.  Valerie is off at school, but today went in an hour early to deliver muffins and juices to teachers to help earn money toward her TRIP.  We are also working on a donations letter, so beware.
