Keeping a Record

Yesterday, Valerie was bored and at home sick.  She texted me while I was in training and asked me "what did I look like when I was six?" So I sent her to my old blog and told her where to look. I have always taken so many photos of her- and now Asher.  It is much easier to access those with digital files, but I did not get my first one till she is 7.

Next thing I know, many photos of her where on her Facebook page and she was asking the same thing I often do when it comes to my children, "where did time go?"

It is interesting when I see a little outfit, or have a specific memory, and I think "it really does not seem like like long ago, but I was CARRYING her..." or "Asher could not even talk then..."

That is why I write.  that is why I blog.  It is easier to not blog, and just keep those things in my mind, but I really, really want a record of their lives.  When Valerie is in Spain, and she feels a little homesick, I want her to be able to get on my blog- see what we are doing, and remember the things we have done.  That is why I blog.

So many people have given up their blogs, and it is called a dying art, but I love my blog and I have blogged since 2004- my myspace days.  Sadly, those entries are all gone, now, and that makes me very sad, but I do have pretty good records from 2007-now.  That is something.
