It was just perfect yesterday after work. I rushed home, because I wanted to have enough time to not feel rushed at the Caverns.
They close at 7, and it takes a good 20 minutes to get there. We got there at 5:30 and it was just truly great. There was no line for the caverns, so it was right in. As always, Asher just loved it down there. He is truly just so fascinated down there looking at stalactites, stalagmites, rock formation, drips that filter from the surface, the still water mirroring the ceiling above. He is just such fun to take there.
I love caverns too. My first time being in them was the day Valerie's dad asked me to marry him. Asher is so lucky to have been in them so early in life. Lucky for me, he is also very excited about them.
After the caverns, we listened to the music being played. It was just perfect sitting there in the warmth (but not hot) with a breeze, blue skies, puffy clouds, surrounded by mountains... it was just a perfect experience.
We listened for a bit, then toured the car museum. Asher was not nearly as impressed as I was. That is a love that comes with time though, I think.
We looked at the cool ropes course- they do parties there. Maybe we will do his 6th birthday there. That actually would be really fun for the kids, I think.
The we thought about the maze. I decided, what the heck... and we went through it.
Asher LOVED it. I have only been through corn mazes, but kind of always wanted to go through a hedge maze. This one was perfect. No need at all to step backward through it and hide. Those mazes... I tell you.
