| We tried threading it is MUCH cheaper than waxing, but it looked pretty painful. Valerie had tears streaming down her face, but assured me she was not crying ;-) |

Friday was a good day. I have now been paid. Although we are far, far, FAR from being "ok," I decided to take Valerie and Alexis to have makeup done in Charlottesville. Of course, I am still nauseous about taking that drive and then having dinner out. We needed it though. It has been such a tough several months. We got through it though. Thanks be to God, our family and our amazing friends.
We have not done anything in so long, I just wanted to do something with Valerie and her friend and Valerie DESPERATELY needed her eyebrows done.
I went to the MAC counter because, pre-Matt, I think that was the one thing I did often FOR ME that I just loved. It is free and those girls (and one time I had a guy) are talented and dramatic with make-up. Dramatic is perfect for my girls as a fun treat on a Friday evening. Valerie and Alexis had an artist named Lila. She is maybe 20 and just the sweetest girl. As I sat watching her, I could tell she just WANTED to make these girls feel beautiful. She was sweet and kind and lovely. I noticed the many, many light straight scars on her arms about halfway through and just wanted to hug this sweet girl. She clearly has struggled with who she is. I can say absolutely that she has the most-beautiful kind of soul. Every once in a while, I meet a person and am able to see them- really see them- and this was a case for me. I hope to visit Lila often and help her to realize I can see her heart of gold. I definitely was liberal in my praise of her and I was happy that she succeeded in her goal: our girls felt beautiful.
Next time, I would like to get my make-up done too. It have been a while since I put any effort into feeling beautiful and there is nothing wrong with wanting that feeling.
It was a good night, then Saturday, Valerie and Alexis went to Alexis's where they watched conference and ate an amazing feast thanks to Alexis's mom. She is a wonderful soul too. I am grateful our girls can have sleepovers and neither of us has to worry too much ;-)
Matt, Asher and I then went to JMU so I could do a few things with work. Asher LOVES coming to work. There is the quad with the fountain and then in my building, there is ... the elevator! He LOVES the elevator!
Finally, we went home and have spent the weekend watching conference. That is such a blessing. We need conference. I am hoping for a good week. There is much to do.
