Valerie wanted a birthday party again this year, so we decided to do it here. She wanted to decorate the garage and hang out there and have dinner, dessert and music.
| I made this invitation, based on the design of the cake Valerie wanted |
| I did a hot chocolate bar with chocolate-covered candy canes, homemade marshmallows, and whipped cream |
| My student, Josie made her cake- custom-designed by Valerie |
| There was chocolate fondue- I FINALLY have a good recipe for it now |
| And I made Valerie's favorite- taco dip, my creation with sides of salsa, sour cream, avacado, cheese, and chips |
| The garage took some serious time to do- with Asher in-tow and all by myself, thanks to Matt's awesome work schedule |
| But it really looked great |
Valerie turns FIFTEEN! on Tuesday, and I will post for her then as well, but I just wanted to say I am so grateful that I was trusted with her. Since she started high school, things have gotten fairly dramatic for us, but we are both trying and most of the time, I can truly say (and mean) that we love each other dearly and we are fun to be around. I love her friends too. They have brought such a special joy to my life. I am grateful to be a mom every day, and that chapter of my life started nearly 15 years ago. That is so hard to believe.
