Sorry blog, I neglected you. I have a couple good reasons though: it is pollen season and I feel like death (and it hasn't even been the kind that makes your car green yet, I can hardly wait...), and I have just been really overwhelmed and... ok, I admit it, depressed.
Now that that jazz is out of the way, here is what our week held:
| The big bad wolf and I cleaned up the back porch while Matt mowed Sunday. Asher decided instead of the Big Bad Wolf, he was actually a "wittle puppy" after a while |
| I got a lovely letter, hand-delivered by a sweet friend Sunday afternoon |
| Asher could not have been HAPPIER than when I gave him this. He carefully picked off the carrot and declared "I'm all done!" This was a treat for his first-ever, without being asked, going to the bathroom for a poopie. He emerged... um... really messy, (how does poop get on the tops of FEET?). The funniest thing was, when I was cleaning him up, he said "That's not supposed to happen." He is right about that. Otherwise, people would wear diapers all their lives. |
| He is growing up- which is awesome, but MAN, I miss having a baby |
| Sunday, we did not have church, proper, because it was General Conference weekend. Saturday, we were very good and watched both sessions diligently. I actually was an emotional mess, sooooo... I took a look at the weather Sunday, and thought, you know... we should go to the park, and we did. |
| Asher LOVED that park |
| Everything was in bloom and so glorious. (albeit, very pollen-laden) |
| There was a climbing wall |
| Look at that happy kiddo |
| Asher was running toward me- he does this funny mouth thing when he is thinking hard. He was thinking hard about feeding the ducks. |
| Glorious, I tell you |
| This is Asher saying "pleeeeeeeeease?" As in "please can we stay longer?" |
| Then happy because I turned our adventure into a game. That is one blessing I have been given- the gift of redirection... |
| OH! I learned how to cryo-preserve embryos with liquid nitrogen! That was super fun! |
| Asher is fully in spring/summer mode and has the BEST WARDROBE EVER- 99% Janie and Jack with hats, socks, hoodies... thanks to my amazing friend, Kari and excellent khakis and tees thanks to Kathy. I have really missed buying clothes, but we are really strapped right now, so although, these things from Kari came last summer, I am so completely and overwhelmingly grateful because we really needed them. asher is in a size 6 now. I had 3s from last year... |
| I did my first-ever tie-dyeing for Valerie to have something for 70s day. |
| I found this book and I had to take a look inside- it is brilliant! |
| These are just two of the totally hilarious pages |
| Walking to swimming lessons was a pretty sight |
| Frozen Yogurt treat after all-day conference |
| Handsome boy |
| Playing at the park is something Asher gets to do every day with Matt |
| Oh! Look what I found! This is the craziest, coolest idea EVER! |
AND! The amazing WAY-TOO-GENEROUS gift from a friend of mine in Japan. They have the BEST STUFF! I told him I still do bento boxes and he sent me all these. If you have no idea what this is for, here are some links:

great photos crystal. i have been thinking about you guys all day. sending good thoughts your way.
I can't believe Asher is in size 6!!! I'm shocked actually. I was just looking at Thanksgiving pictures and really missing you guys. I'll be doing my Thanksgiving post so you'll see my favorite picture, Colby and Asher hugging. It's so sweet I almost teared up when I saw it. Cousins are so wonderful. I wish I was closer to more of mine. I'm sorry for the hard time you've been having. I'm thinking of you often. I need to let you know that more.
