It is HOT and that makes for short tempers and misery.
Asher thinks he wants to be outside for hours each day, which makes the lucky parent, of course, hot and miserable... Not so fun. He comes in bright red, sweaty and stinky from all the sweat. Ick.
Our AC cannot even keep up- it has been a balmy 80 during the day for the past several days. I am not sure it has ever been like this before in the summers. Not fun.
Anyway, Valerie has about a month before she starts 8th grade. Exciting, but I have been REALLY STRESSSSSSSSING about how on earth I am going to afford school clothes and supplies. She NEEDS clothes and that is an understatement. She has outgrown everything except her shoes (thank GOD) and I am at a loss as to what to do. She has no shirts that fit properly and one pair of jeans that barely fit. It is all sorts of fun. Sigh.
Anyway, those are some of the thoughts in my head lately. What are you thinking about?

I have to post this- its just too good. So... there was a stake picnic in Charlottesville- it was all outdoors (not much shade), and I did not even want to get out because it was just too darn hot and I really do not do well in the sun (who does)?
So we went to the mall where there is an INDOOR playground and I wanted Valerie to try on some jeans so I could see what size she was in... that was a BUST at GAP and Aero was so loud I could not even have a conversation with her, so we went to the store I shopped at most... well, aside from Ann Taylor... New York and Co. As it turns out, they are having a huge clearance, so I asked Valerie to try on a few things and then remembered the gift card I have had forever from a boy a long time ago and sure enough, it is still valid AND Valerie found some REALLY cute 4$ shirts and an 8$ pair of jeans, so she got a few things which makes me much more at-ease about school. We aren't done, but seriously...
How is THAT for "Ask and ye shall receive" ??!!??
That's fabulous! She always looks cute. I wonder if there won't be more sales in October--like right after you get paid? Sneaky....eh?
Oh she will not be getting clothes before then, there is just no way unless she gets a fairy godmother. I was just referring to school supplies, and fees.
