Sunday, the Fourth of July

Happy birthday, USA!!

We started our day (fasting was Friday)
with red white and blue muffins.

After church, we made a FEAST.

Slowly smoked baby back ribs, homemade BBQ sauce, grill asparagus and peaches

PW sides

Perfect Potatoes au Gratin

Fancy Macaroni and Cheese

Wild Rice and Corn Casserole

Jenn made PW's

Best Chocolate Sheet Cake Ever (no lie on the validity of the name)

Then we went out to get pictures of our fire crackers...

That is when things with my camera started getting ugly.

For a while, it has not been able to photograph with the flash or zoom-in, but outdoors, flashless shots were still REALLY good... no more, my friends... though I am hopeful I can fiddle with it later...

Not a bad shot of the sun through the tree

Taylor Renee.

(Aside: It is not fun or easy to get a toddler and a baby to sit still outside on the trampoline ;-)

The huge inflatable ball was much more successful, but by the time Asher was on, my camera would not even turn on. Jennifer got a GREAT shot though.

Taytey-bug

She was so so happy!

We tried for a good 45 minutes to get them to sit together (make that- to get ASHER to sit still next to Taylor).

We watched the New Market fireworks then came home and had sparklers and fountains in the driveway. Taylor was afraid of the noises, but she did very well. The great excitement for the night was when our grass caught on fire with a sparkler ;-)

Valerie ran and got the cat water.

I ran and got the hose... with attached sprinkler. After the fire was out, it was hilarious.
