Park

Today I was looking at the lenses I have with this beauty. The camera I want has a rebate for a lens, so I was looking at my film camera. This happens about once every 3 weeks... I have been dreaming of it for about 4 years now...

I asked for this camera for a while before I got it. Not quite 4 months, but it is all relative, eh? It was my Christmas present from my ex husband the last year we were married, so that was almost 7 years ago... At that time, digital cameras were not nearly the rage they are now. I had no idea in 2 short years, this camera would be totally obselete. But it is. It takes magnificent photos, but I never use it. Film is expensive, there is no auto-recall and developing film is even more of a pain.

I took Asher to the park today. Last night was hell. A bad day and a bad night. Asher was up, vomiting all night. He threw up in my car this morning on our way to the park. I was going to turn around, but we had an extra outfit in my car, so I cleaned him up and we went to the park. I did have to pull off the interstate though because he was choking on the vomit. That was scary, but he is ok. One day, he will not choke when he is congested. What a glory that will be.

So, we went to the new Harrisonburg "A Dream Come True" park. For a kiddo, this place is paradise.

There were like 200 minivans there. I was truly astonished at 11 am on a Friday how many people were not at work. The fun was watching Asher play, but then I started realizing how many people there were with fancy cameras and I was only a teeny bit envious. Well, a LOT envious. I have wanted one for a while now. When I got my Nikon point and shoot, it was $500 (5.1 mp) . I could get a pretty decent camera and a lens for that... plus I have some lenses for my film camera that will work with a digi camera. Anyway. I was thinking about this when I took Asher to the bathroom with me.

THEN...

In there were two girls on a field trip- with cameras, one an SLR, and I was all sorts of uncomfortable. I wonder how many pictures I was in. Ick. Then I realized, as I was getting pictures with my phone camera... I have lots of kids in my shots that I don't know. Is that an invasion of privacy? I kind of think it is on some levels.

I really tried to get pictures with only Asher after that, but it was impossible! There were so many kids!

This is the water rock. He was a big fan of it. Me too since it was way hotter than the 70 degrees forecast for today.

The park was pretty amazing, really. I had never been and I must say, Asher will be disappointed by other parks when he is old enough to BE disappointed because this one is so fantastic. If ever we have kiddos visiting us, I am taking them to this park. It really is pretty great.
