Brought to you by... my 8 year old computer

My 2.5 year old computer (Nov 2008) has mysteriously stopped working. I am now using my OSX 10.3, 8 year old desktop , but I will HAVE to replace my iMac if I can not fix it. The really crappy thing is that I already needed to replace my laptop. It is 6 years old and really, really flaky...

I have thought many a cuss word today, but am extremely proud to say I have not said a single one out loud. Go me!

This computer is so old that there are not any programs that I use (office, etc) that are compatible with this computer. Nice. That computer was $2000 and should not be dead. It is extraordinarily bothersome, but not under warranty, etc. Not cool.

Asher and I played outside a LOT of the day. I have been feeling really, REALLY awful all week. I am pretty certain I have a sinus infection. The constant watery eyes, headache and nausea are exhausting. Add in chasing Asher around... man. I am beat. One day, I will have health insurance...

Valerie is out of school now. YAY! She has girls' mini-camp next week and is super-excited about that. I sure hope it is as awesome as she is expecting it to be.

Please be in prayer for my brother, who is officially deployed now, Jennifer, and Taylor. This is not a fun situation for any of us, but especially not his wife and daughter.

That totally stinks about your computer! Do you get a new computer with your new job? Lots of prayers for your brother and his family.

hey, yes, I will get a computer (it is looking like someone's old one) in my office... at the end of August. That will be a computer that I can't take home though. I will need to have email and BlackBoard access as well as the ability to write lectures at home though. I will be pretty busy at work with labs and lectures, so I will be doing a significant amount here. Not to mention, I have a LOT to get done before I actually go in in August. It is a mess. I got this last computer with my last grant money at the very end of grad school...

I'm wondering if there is anybody in your ward, or maybe an IT guy from school who could diagnose your MAC issue. Alex has been a good resource for our PC problems. Why don't you try giving him a call. Cute Asher shots by the way.

Hey, David. Everyone I know has a Mac, just about but honestly, there are problems so infrequently with them that none of my friends really know how to fix them. I contacted the IT person at work and he told me some things to do, and I have done them all and the computer is totally unresponsive! There is a computer repair place that fixes Macs in town, but we cant afford that right now and it is looking like this is a pretty bad problem,
