Curious Boy

I just love this photo. Asher is smiling at me through the storm door window. You can see he is teasing me and my reflection. Such a sweet, dear boy.

Asher is perpetual motion personified. He is busy, busy, busy all the time. Everywhere every day.

I am now going into work regularly- 4-7 hour days, which is good. I miss the leisure of not having a to-do list every day, but it is REALLY good for me to get out and talk to people and interact and "do" science-y things. I need a air freshener for my office, it has the strangest smell.

I am coordinating Genetics and advanced Microbiology labs and teaching 3 sections of micro and one of cell. It was just supposed to be one section of Micro, but a co-worker's wife has leukemia and he needs to take of some time to help her. I absolutely am heart-broken for them and he is the nicest guy, so I was happy to step up.

I have 50 auctions up. I think... I just might make some serious profit. I generally sell clothes to buy what we "need' for the next season with Asher's clothes, but we seriously NEED NOTHING. Maybe not even until next summer, but I am sure I will find things between now and then. I have realized I LOVE the combination of grey with bright green. I am not sure exactly why, but the combo is sooooo handsome.

Anyway, Asher will be wearing last year's Gymboree and Janie and Jack this year. That is typically how I do it so that he is dressed as nicely as I want, but I only pay a fraction of the retail value for his clothes. I tell you, it is THE way to go.

The best is that Jennifer has learned how to do this too so we have this awesome clothes connection that is super.

Valerie is staying with Alexis for the next couple days. I am so glad Alexis is back from visiting her dad in Iowa. She is one of my favorite friends Valerie has. We have really missed her, plus they have a pool, rec room and she can play the Wii with a partner. Valerie has read all the vampire books I got her this summer (not Twilight), the 2 Hunger Games books and now she is reading the Harry Potter series. That is one GREAT thing that has happened this summer. I feel that she will benefit academically from gaining this love of reading. When I think of how little time we have with her before college, I get all sorts of anxious. So much to do/learn/experience in such a little bit of time.
