Why I Want a New Camera...

I get JOY from taking photos. I really love it. I can not tell you how many times a day, in my mind, I think, "That would be a GREAT picture!" Even if all I have with me is a phone camera. Here are some phone camera photos. You can not control, focus, exposure or anything. You can just hope to get something you like. I often do, but often I think...

I wish his face was more in focus. He is LOVING the lawn-mower racing as seen through the sun roof.

Or, blast it!! I wish I could play with the exposure! Those curls are adorable!

Most of mine, are sadnesses about focus though.
I would love to have his face in focus more than his shirt.

Same here. I would love the background more hazy. That is the problem with single-focal-length camera lenses.

I CURSE the lack of focus here, but look how nicely focused the deck wood is... Blah.

Single plane of focus is not my friend, so I try to take interesting shots from above to try to get SOME sort of depth...

I do have to say though, if ANYONE can work their phone camera... I am getting there. These (and the ones at the top) were iPhone shots from the day. I literally saw this bridge, looked in the rear-view mirror and ahead and saw no traffic, so I stopped, rolled down the window. Slowly rolled forward and back till I got a nice frame and snapped a (ONE) photo and played with it a little.

Highlit for one color. LOVE this. If it was not a 1 megapixel shot, I would blow it up and put it on my wall.

Finally, here are some with an SLR I took three summers ago. Be still, my heart. Photography allows me to capture the precious essence of a moment and make THAT into a memory.
